When Covid-19 swept the world in 2020 the wedding industry was pretty much killed. Weddings and events were canceled left and right, people unsure what to do decided to postpone their plans for some time in the future hoping things will get better someday somehow. We were locked and live as we new it changed forever. (by the way if you have not already seen my lockdown project “The Mountains Are Calling” follow the link here).
A brave few couples decided to not cancel, but to adapt as much as possible to the new conditions and still have their important day. Nele and Juan were one of those brave couples. Despite the conditions they managed to organise a small and intimate wedding in Gent and I was lucky enough to photograph it.
Juan’s family did not manage to come from Latin America, but watched the wedding streamed live from the town hall. The few guests that were accepted managed to make the couple feel on the top of the world 🙂
Please enjoy a small selection from their wedding day and if you like what you see, do not hesitate to contact me at ivo.popov@gmail.com
I would love to photograph you!
