As a wedding photographer in Belgium I have the unique opportunity to be able to travel and photograph people all over Europe and all around the world. This weekend the fate brought me to Austria, in the amazing Schloss Obermayerhofen. Although Sonal and Matthias live in London they decided to give all their friends a taste of their Indian and Austrian roots in this amazing location. When they told me about their plan, I knew right away that this would be a weekend I won’t soon forget 🙂 It was a crazy weekend long adventure for all who joined them. And it more than lived up to all their expectations 🙂
The wedding weekend started with an intimate outdoor ceremony in the fields close to the castle followed by a traditional Austrian party in the cottage nearby. The next day was all about the colourful Hindu ceremony. The traditional mandap was built outdoor under a big, hundreds of years old three next to the castle. The groom of course arrived on a horse 🙂 The bride was walked down the path to the mandap by her brother.
It’s always amazing to observe and document European and Eastern traditions mixing. One thing is sure thou – LBS graduates know how to party 🙂
